So you guys remember my fiasco let year when my strap let go while hauling my Sovereign and she fell off the trailer around 35mph. Well, either the spindle or axle was bent but luckily I had purchased a replacement axle years ago for my 7016, but even though they were manufactured 17 years apart the axle fit right in. Took about 90 minutes to swap out. Now I am ready to mow!

You were lucking on two accounts. The axle fit right in and your tractor didn't get balled up in the fall.
You must be living right.

Woo-hoo! And you had the parts on hand. Happy mowing.

That is one thing about the 40 year run of Simplicity large frames tractors. Even though the tractors changed in appearance, wheel base and equipment over the years it was incremental. Even when they went from FDT's to RBT's most of the tractor remained the same.

My dad doubted me Phil, he knew it was for the older 7016 and kept waiting for the 'Oh crap' moment when I realized it wouldn't work. But it did, of course! That's why having spares around is always a good thing.... :)

Oh, this time chain that baby down. I insist on chains and load binders.
