Today my dad and brother wanted to get the steam tractor out so I took a couple more tractors over there for fun. We had(from least to greatest horsepower) Isabelle's 5hp Serf, Abby's 7hp Broadmoor, my nephews 7hp Allis, my dad's 50hp John Deere and the 65hp Case. I monitored the kids on the gardens tractors while Emma was driving around on the John Deere and my dad and bro got the Case steamed up. We had a great day, lots of work but lots of fun, too. By the smiles in these photos I think we all had fun.

Thanks Jon, I have always wondered. Only ever been around them operating, never been around startup.

Rich, yesterday it took about 90 minutes to get up enough pressure to drive around, about 25psi at minimum. I believe it took them about 30 minutes to get filled with water before lighting up also. Generally 2 hours from first action to moving.

Thanks for sharing Jon, that picture of the Case in the trees is a calendar shot! About how long is it from dropping a match to full steam pressure?
