My son was very happy with me for getting his tractor running. I met someone about 20 miles from me tonight after work to pick up the rear weight. Put it on and played with the high rpm adjustment and it sputtered to life. Still have some fine tuning to do, but it took him all over the yard! Have to put the grille back on but she is pretty much good to go!
I have a special place for this one, I went to Pennsylvania for it(700 mile round trip), it is the oldest I have as a 1963, it is an early Broadmoor from what I can tell, and this one is the first restore job I did. So my mood gets better when I see her running...

Joe, I was toying with my hi-lo for the first time when I finally got it running. Mine doesn't like staying engaged in either hi or lo. It kind of likes the middle where it does nothing. I need to figure out hot to keep it "snapped" one way or the other...

looking good
mine isn't too pretty, but I've been using it to haul around the cart and the lawn sweeper.
I blew the LO on the HI-LO a few weeks ago

Not a bad idea Jared. I love using my smaller Yeoman & Broadmoor when I can, it is amazing how much these smaller tractors can handle. 6 horses doesn't seem like much but they can sure do alot of work. And again, you did a fantastic restoration on that.

Show us the finished product again, I remember it looks as good or better than the one I have!!

Thanks Jon...if you'd allow me to provide some sort of compensation, I'm sure we could make an arrangement some time. The trouble most times is finding a time to go get something anyway.

I do have my eye on something special, but it's as far from you as you are from me...gonna be a long drive, but I might be able to pull it off wile the wifey is away on business =] Still not sure it's worth it, but we'll see. Might even have to swing through St John's for some weights on the way...

Not as much as near Larry!! :) Seriously Josh, if you find something you gotta have I can get it and bring it to my place and you can come pick it up from me. I don't mind the occasional road trip. He was a very nice guy if you see something else, that is an easy drive for me and like I said, I could meet you somewhere to shorten your trip...
Talntedmrgreen Posted - 06/21/2011 : 06:02:46
I shoulda known you would get after that rear weight...I couldn't justify the trip, but wanted his 8" wheel weights in the worst way...

Everytime I see something on CL that nearly makes me bite, it's between Lansing and Flint! THere must be a lot of Simplicity stuff out that way...

I think I've seen something more my way you have your eyes on too Josh! :) I won't let the cat out of the bag though.. :) My Broadmoor can't take a tiller, it has the 2 speed gearbox since it is early. When they went to a 3 speed (maybe when they upped it to 7 horses) it has the pto on it. The 2 speed doesn't. Oh, and i was hoping to meet him at his home but he wanted to meet at the Walmart in St Johns. :( Probably best I didn't see what else he had!!
Talntedmrgreen Posted - 06/20/2011 : 22:25:05
I see so many of the small frame tillers lately, and finding a large frame tiller is futile. I'm not sure I'd be tilling in the rain or snow though, and that cab prolly gets cookin' in the summer sun! =]

There's a real gem of a Broadmoore up for sale over my way with a mower and blower. It looks sharp, and if it had a tiller instead, it would be tempting. I'd just never use the mower or blower, and it would be a showpeice more than anything. With a tiller, I think it would be great to use in the garden all summer between rows. I do think they're cute machines...

Did you say Broadmoor with a tiller?
